Annual Meeting 2011
Setting the Course: To Infinity and Beyond!
On July 22, 2011 Qualified Systems Contracting, Inc. held its mid-year, all-hands company meeting for its staff and contributors. Some of the goals of the meeting were to facilitate camaraderie and to set the foundation for the company’s continued growth. It was a serious meeting that ended with a comedic blast off.

Says Vice President Carl Stark, a.k.a. 'Buzz Light-Year,' “We rarely take time out to relax and have a little fun. But with continued success in 2011 and the move into our new 5000 square foot headquarters building on the horizon we decided it was time to focus inward for a day."
When asked about the meeting President Dave Torgerson said, “Most of the time we’re just too busy for something like this. It's extremely difficult to get so many people from so many places into a single room at the same time. However, the benefits of such a meeting far outweigh the costs associated.
"Our staff is extremely talented and were able to provide excellent suggestions and feedback with regard to Qualified Systems and the way we do business. Having another spectacular year of controlled growth created the demand to formalize plans for the next phase of our company’s evolution, and this meeting was an excellent venue in which to present those plans and get the buy-in from the staff."
Adds Carl, “In order to facilitate smooth growth we needed to create a new organizational chart with a well-defined corporate infrastructure that was separate from each of our existing offices. Now, with thirty-plus employees and three offices, we've set the stage for continued conquest until we are Florida’s top security integrator."
Carl continues, "We have formed a company leadership team. We meet bi-monthly to discuss company growth strategies and to deal with the big picture issues. We then take the best practices and standard operating procedures developed during the meetings and use them to create our new polices and guidelines."
As for the comedic sendoff at the end of the company meeting?
"So if we can have some fun now and then, then why shouldn’t we?" Carl says. "At the end of the day, we surprised the entire company by walking out in these ridiculous costumes and giving out prizes. It was nice to show the troops that we don’t take ourselves too seriously. When it’s possible, we’ll celebrate our success. The key is to ensure we stick to our original goals: to be the best company we can be, make the company a place we can be proud of, and ensure our employees enjoy coming to work… most of the time."
It is work after all.
